15 August 2008 - 11:02On druids.

I and my 2v2 partner Rinny the rogue had the following conversation about druids and our twice-gladiator friend Kiyu the other day, while we were struggling to climb out of the 1600-1700 bracket.

Rinny: I hate druids.
Me: They aren’t that bad.
Rinny: Yes they are.
Me: Well, they aren’t, you know, immortal or anything.
Rinny: You know that Kiyu used to be Alliance before we rolled here.
Me: Yeah?
Rinny: Well, the other day we learned that a friend of ours had an Alliance hunter on another server, so Kiyu transferred his 70 druid to play with him. Said druid is in greens. They got to 1700 within one day of playing.
Me: Well, that’s Kiyu for you.
Rinny: He’s in greens.
Me: But it’s Kiyu playing.
Rinny: He’s in greens.
Me: I hate you.

8 August 2008 - 17:42Spring cleaning & prep for Lich King

I’ve lately been doing some preparation for Wrath and trying to decide where each of my characters will go once the expansion hits. This entails two things: Guild bank clearing to ensure I start Wrath with maximum cash (no one knows what we will need!) and gear grinding for characters.

Today I cleared out my guildbank, AHing hundreds of gold’s worth of herbs, potions, buff food, enchanting materials and the like – come Wrath, all of it will be worthless, so might as well get rid of it. I don’t actively raid at the moment either, so I have no need for consumables. So far the sales have netted me around 600g, with goods worth twice that still on the AH. My guess is that I can have at least 30k+ gold before Wrath (currently at 28k across all characters on Haomarush) which is more than enough for anything that can be thrown at me.

Another thing I should be doing is gear and rep grinding. I should have had all my 70s at SSO exalted already, sadly only one of them is SSO exalted at the moment – on the others I have either been lazy, have had a spec not suitable for grinding, or a mixture of both. Getting all of them SSO exalted will also ensure steady gold flow.

Other goals I have include getting full S2 to the chars that need it, in a spec of their choice. Elysiane doesn’t need it, neither does Starlet since she pretty much has it all (I’m looking at the S3 helm in another week or two, have the S4 gloves, and S2 pieces in other slots).  But Sareya, Roch and especially my long-neglected Kali could use some upgrades.

Thing is – I know what I am getting for Sareya, full S2, nonset epics, the works. But I have no idea what spec’s set should be grinded for the other two. I could get resto and holy sets for both – but I hardly ever arena with Kaliah, and having a decent DPS set would be cool in preparation for Lich King. Same for Rochalie, hardly ever BG/arena now, could do with a ret set (besides, I have been considering going The Ret for a while now). Plus, if I actually had DPS gear and spec on those two, maybe I would be more motivated to rep farm…

I could also bite the bullet and go for both sets, but I feel I would die inside before that. I spend a lot of time in battlegrounds as is.

I am also considering getting Kaliah and Starlet exalted with The Aldor just to have done it, but it can well be a waste of time and money seeing WotLK is here soon.

As for my little Alliance characters, the future is uncertain. I would like a night elf priest, but I am horribly disillusioned with priests in PvP at the moment, and that gives me no motivation to level Kielle. I am determined to get Lainie WSG exalted and then move on to the next bracket, but at any rate, that doesn’t seem like an easy or fast goal to reach. It will undoubtedly be quite a while before it happens.

7 August 2008 - 18:53Not sure how many people will read this

Because it’s my little corner of the interwebs after all, but just a heads up.

Omgtwinky of Eonar EU, is an immature, terrible %&!%ty brat, for lack of better words, so beware if you ever end up in a WSG with him, and he has the flag.

Setting: WSG. Score: 2-1 to Alliance. I’m on Lainie, here, there, everywhere, trying harder than usual to win because it’s WSG weekend and I love the extra rep. Said retard above has the Horde flag. There is a twink hunter on the other side who gives us a lot of trouble, so it’s been pretty hard, and I’m relieved to have eked out a win. I’m just waiting for that final cap so I can go grab a drink and relax.

“I won’t cap lol”

….what?

“You all have to say I’m awesome before I cap haha”
“You are being immature. Cap the flag.”
“Lol no not capping”

This goes on for a couple more minutes, then the Horde recap team storms in.

Yeah, you guessed right, we lost that match. After pretty much doing all we can.

I hope none of you are unlucky enough to come across this particular brand of retard. /spit I can understand griefing the other team (well, most of the time – I am of the opinion that BGs should be played with honor and won/lost with honor), but I will never understand griefing your own team on purpose.

/sigh Wish Blizz would lay the smack down on such people, but of course not…. Money from a paying customer > complaints of other customers. Even if reported, we know all too well that the reply will be “no action can be taken, please QQ more”.

Hope for better matches tomorrow – Lainie just dinged friendly as well, so that’s another goal reached.

5 August 2008 - 11:25Today in WSG.

Setting – 10-19 WSG. Facing a team with 5 twink hunters being multiboxed.

Random rogue on my team: OMG HAX
Me: It’s called multiboxing, and it’s permitted. 5 accounts, 5 WoW windows, one person. Blizz has said that it is okay, as long as the accounts are all controlled by a person.
RR: OMG NOLIFER!!!!11 BUT HE ATTACKS ALL AT ONCE
Me: I know, he has macros.
RR: BUT ITS NOT A MACRO ITS A SCRIPT BOT REPORT
Me: He has macros, and a program that transfers keystrokes across WoW windows.
RR: BUT HE AUTOATTACKS
Me:….okay.

/facepalm

I hate PuGs.
